Family values

Modules 1-3

You'll map out your family's values and your student's strengths, gather outside perspectives from teachers, coaches, and mentors, and start building your working list of right fit schools.

Applications done

Modules 4-6

You'll get hands-on with the SAO, from setting up a student profile to knowing what to do if a school doesn't use it. From there, you'll work through every stage of the application itself: crafting your student's story, framing challenges as strengths, tackling school-specific essays, and tracking everything you submit. By the end of this section, application will be sent.

Transitions and planning

Modules 7-8

You'll learn how to plan school visits that actually tell you something, know what to look for on a campus tour, and prepare for admissions interviews with confidence. Once acceptances come in, you'll get guidance on managing disabilities at a new school and setting your student up to thrive during the transition.

Meet your guide, rebekah jordan, m.ed.

Over the past 25 years in education, I’ve been a teacher, head of school, tutor, division head, consultant, board member, and advisor. Along the way, I’ve helped close to a thousand students and families just like you find creative solutions to educational problems.

My favorite students to work with are the ones with something “fun” in their profile, whether that’s a healthy dose of anxiety, dyslexia, neurodivergence (high-five to my ADHD kids), depression, or other mental health challenges.

Prior to Crossbridge, one of my proudest educational creations was The Peak School in Frisco, Colorado. With an incredible team of parents and teachers, we created a space for students who learn differently or just wanted to break the mold of “traditional” school. Peak is still out there today and our first class of high school graduates is now in their early twenties – out there changing the world as software engineers, epidemiologists, law students, musicians, and more.

That’s my goal for every family I work with:

No matter what path your child is on when we first connect, I want them to leave our work together knowing themselves better as learners and humans, and to be in a place that is the right one for them.

Meet your guide, kimberly keebler dresner, Ed.d.

I am an adjunct professor who has been teaching and working in education for more than two decades. I have taught multiple grade levels and tutor students from Pre-K to college, specializing in writing instruction, reading instruction and comprehension, and autism education and support. I hold a doctorate in Cognitive Studies in Literacy and two masters' degrees in elementary education and teaching and instructional practices. I work with Crossbridge clients in need of school advocacy, IEP support, and special education services in their local districts. I love making even the trickiest IEP process simple and effective.

My favorite students to work with are those that have something special in their profile. I worked with hyperlexic students in my doctoral studies and specialize in dyslexia and reading intervention at all ages.
